A flag raising ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of Airdrie's new Legion on Saturday, September 17th.

The guys and gals of Legion Branch #288 are all set up, and enjoying their new location on 1st Ave, just off Mainstreet.

"I had the unfortunate part of closing the old place, so it's great to see a new place open up, and so many new young veterans coming into town, we gotta have a place for them, and we have a whole new legacy for them." said Bob McNevin, Legion #288 member.

The new building features two-stories and sits at 2,800 square feet, including the basement.

With the new building up and running, the Legion can shift its focus to Airdrie's new LAV III monument, which is to be unveiled October 9th.

Legion #288 welcomes all to come out and become a member.

If you're interested in joining, you can stop by in person, or visit their new website.
