Environment Canada has issued fog advisories for a portion of central and southern Alberta.

UPDATE: The advisories have now been ended.

Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring over some areas. The dense fog has formed early this morning and will begin to dissipate later this morning.

The weather advisory indicates visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

The fog advisories are in place for Rocky View Co. near Irricana Beiseker and Kathyrn through to Drumheller and Three Hills. Rocky View Co. near Chestermere Dalroy and Dalemead, along with Brooks, and Vulcan.

The advisory also includes areas around the QEII Highway north of Airdrie including Innisfail, Red Deer and Ponoka.
