The last time you were at the grocery store did you walk past the meat aisle for fear of the price shock?

If you're a meet lover, there are plenty of ways to get your fix without breaking the bank.  Prices for a steak locally are as high as $50 and $60 for a single cut.

"Buying smaller packages to pay yourself for a day is gonna cost more than being able to buy 6-8 steaks that'll last you a few days. The bigger the packages the lower the prices." said Jent Hoestra, Co Owner, The Butcher Shoppe.

Depending on how many middle men are involved, you could end up paying more than you need too.

"There's a lot of people in between from the slaughter house to the brokerage firms, and everything else," said Hoestra. "We do it from start to finish, so we're in full control."

If you're shopping for any meat, you're encouraged to shop around to find the best price possible.
