The makers of the EpiPen are warning Canadians of a shortage of one of their products.

According to a release from Health Canada, manufacturing disruptions at Pfizer is causing the shortage of the 0.3 mg auto-injector.

Pfizer anticipates the shortage should be resolved by March 2nd, 2018 but says there could be a 2 to 4 week period where none of the product will be available.

The company says that a limited number of the EpiPen product will be supplied at the beginning of February.

The shortage does not affect the 0.15 mg EpiPen Jr.

For up to date information on the shortage, Health Canada recommends to routinely visit Drug Shortages Canada or the Pfizer Canada website.
