After months of deliberation, public meetings and parent consultations the Rocky View School board may have the answers to the million dollar transportation deficit.

According to School Board Chair, Todd Brand the board has devised four separate bundles with multiple components to resolve the deficit.  The board is once again asking for parents and stakeholders opinions on which of the four bundles should be pursued and implemented.

"We put out a few different options for people to take a look at and give their feedback both by vote and by the comment"

The first of the four bundles includes picking up urban students to fill rural buses, refrain from entering rural cul-de-sacs unless the length exceeds 800 meters, adjust school bell times to accommodate more double runs in all urban communities and creating consistent school finish times from Monday to Friday by eliminating early dismissal Friday.

The second bundle includes the same cul-de-sac policy as well as adjusting school bell times to accommodate more double runs in all urban communities. The other two components of the second bundle include increasing the walking distance to 2.4 kilometres for all urban students and increasing student fees by 5 percent for families currently charged bus fees.

The third bundle includes the cul-de-sac, double runs in urban areas and school finish time policies as well as increasing the transportation fees by 10 percent for families currently charged for bus fees.

The fourth bundle includes the cul-de-sac and bell time policies as well as adjusting and extending school bell times to accommodate triple bus runs in urban areas.

The survey closes on March 30th.
