With what seems like a never-ending winter, many people are gazing out their windows wondering when camping season will start.

According to Tim Chamberlin, spokesperson for Alberta Parks, they are hoping to have all provincial campgrounds open for May long weekend.

"As per usual, we fully anticipate to be fully operational with all services for our parks by the May long weekend."

The heavy snowpack this year is causing some concern in the sense of the potential flooding that may occur along some rivers.

"In advance of heading out camping, check albertaparks.ca to see if there are advisories in effect for the area you plan on visiting."

Reservations for the 2018 season have already started and according to Chamberlin, each campground has a variety of first-come-first-serve stalls as well as reserved stalls.
