A Ponoka man was looking for a light fingered discount on some jewelley at CrossIron Mills on November 3.

Police got the call that a man tried to grab and dash a ring from a jewellery store at the popular mall.  

29-year-old Ryan Babcock from Ponoka wasn't quick enough though and got picked up at a gas station close by.  

Babcock was also connected to a stolen Audi A4 that had been taken out of Edmonton.

He has been charged with theft under $5000, breach, and possession of stolen property.

There were also outstanding arrest warrants for possession of a dangerous weapon.
