The second and final city council meeting for the month of October took place on Monday, October 17.

The meeting started off with a Moment of Silence for those who passed away in the plane crash on Thursday, October 13; former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice, Airdrie's Jim Kruk, Sheldon Reid, and Kenneth Gellatly.

The Airdrie Main Street Square was brought up during the public question period, a topic that was discussed at length as Marni Marr, Jim Hasset, and others stepped up to the mic to ask their questions.

Lynn Mackenzie, Municipal Enforcement Team Leader, gave a short report on the nature of complaints bylaw received from Airdrie's citizens, stating that many of the complaints are made with good intent.

November 13-19 has been declared National Bullying Awareness Week with the purpose of making the community aware of the seriousness of bullying.

The next City Council meeting will be held on November 7, 2016, at 6:00p.m.
