Drivers experienced a long drive home on Wednesday, September 7, after multiple accidents occurred in Airdrie.

The first collision happened around 3:30p.m. on Yankee Valley Blvd. under the Highway 2 overpass.  Three people were injured in the accident.

"Two females, one in her 20's, one in her 40's, as well as a male in his 40's, were all transferred to [Peter Lougheed] hospital in stable condition, suffering from non-life threatening injuries," said Adam Loria, a paramedic with Alberta Health Services.

The second accident happened an hour later, at 4:30p.m., in the northbound lanes of Highway 2 within the vicinity of CrossIron Drive.

The incident involved a motorcycle and a car with one person being injured.

"The motorcyclist, a male believed to be in his 50's, was taken to the Foothills Medical Centre. He was suffering from quite serious, significant injuries, but at the time, was considered in stable, non-life threatening condition," said Loria.

With three large collisions occurring within the same time frame, Loria is sending out a reminder to be safe on the road.
