Construction has been delayed for the proposed left hand turn lane on Sierra Springs Drive.

Acoording to the City of Airdrie there were some unexpected complications which have temporarily delayed the project.

Bob Neil from the City of Airdrie says they've now got the approval from Alberta Transportation to go ahead with the construction.

"Alberta Transportation is now reviewing the traffic accommodation strategy before we get started."

There's currently some lead time for parts of the traffic signal that need to be replaced.

The projected deadline is still set for the end of September, and the construction shouldn't disrupt traffic.

Neil says the only thing they're waiting for is for Alberta Transportation to make a comment, and then the contractor can begin the work. Neil didn't specify what comment they're awaiting for from the Province.
