UPDATE:

Cochrane RCMP now say the incident on Highway One has been cleared and westbound traffic in the area is flowing normally.

No further updates are anticipated.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Cochrane RCMP are on the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Highway One west of Calgary involving multiple fatalities.  

The incident happened this morning just west of the Old Banff Coach Road near Calgary.  

The RCMP say both the driver and a passenger have been killed in the crash.  Police will not be releasing their identities.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is in it's early stages and ongoing.

RCMP say as of 11:00 am this morning that traffic is reduced to one lane and is anticipated to be for several hours.
