A national recall has been issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for President's Choice Pub Recipe Chicken Nuggets over concerns of salmonella contamination.

The recall was issued yesterday (July 12) after findings by the CFIA during an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. There have been illness associated with this recall.

The affected product is marked with the code "2018 MR 15". Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell contaminated. If you have purchased this product, you should stop consuming it and dispose of it immediately.

If you think you've gotten sick from eating these chicken nuggets, you should contact your doctor immediately. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weak immune systems are particularly susceptible to salmonella and can contract serious or deadly infections. Short-term symptoms of salmonella among healthy people include fever, nausea, headache, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term symptoms may include severe arthritis.
