The Airdrie Capital Budget committee was recently hunkered down for two days reviewing the proposed 2017 budget.

The initial budget came in at $39.4 million, but was reduced to $38 million by the end of negotiations.

The committee has chosen to table the finalization of the capital budget until the operating budget is approved at the end of November.

"The operating budget is 130 million dollars is what their proposing for 2017," said Mayor Peter Brown.

Final recommendations from the budget committee will likely go to Council on December 5.

All budget committee meetings and council meetings are available to the public and can be viewed as a live broadcast on Youtube.
