Residents of Luxstone Square are asking for 'No Parking' signs on the corner of the neighbourhood's only entrance.

A petition was presented to City Council on Monday, December 5.

"Accidents have occurred at this intersection due to congestion, multiple vehicles entering onto the square may be stopped in the middle of the road waiting," said Jason Gunn, Luxstone Resident.

The petition was limited to residents of the square, and the goal of 40% support was exceeded.

"It's unsafe in the winter, it's also unsafe for children in the neighbourhood," said one resident on the petition.

Airdrie's Traffic Advisory Committee shot down the signage request, stating that the situation is no different then many others in the city.

City Council will be reviewing the request further.
