Construction on Rocky View's newest mall is moving along well, despite earlier delays.

New Horizon Mall was originally supposed to be finished and ready for customers before this Christmas. However as Eli Swirzky, President of the Torgan Group of Developers explains, that date has been pushed back.

"We had sort of a slow start because of the last winter, we were sort of nailed by delays, but we're really catching up now. Initially we thought we'd be finished before the end of the year, but as we informed all the purchasers, it's going to be the early spring next year."

Swirzky goes on to say that the Mall has sold around 95% of it's retail spaces, with a few storefronts available.

Next winter shouldn't create issues for construction as Swirzky says by then the exterior work should be finished.

"Now that we're actually going to be enclosed before the winter we are pretty sure we can meet that deadline."

If all goes according to plan, Swirzky says the mall should open it's doors by March or April of 2018.
