RCMP Detachments from Olds and Didsbury are on the scene of a single-vehicle crash that's left two people dead.

Around 9:00 am this morning (June 10), police were dispatched to Highway 2 near the Highway 27 overpass.  A passenger vehicle left the road surface and came to rest against the overpass.  It was determined the two people were deceased at the scene.

Other occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries.

An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.  Olds RCMP was assisted by members of the neighbouring Didsbury detachment at the scene.

Traffic is moving slowly in both directions as only one lane is open.  It's anticipated the area will be fully open within a few hours.
