The Fraser Institute is out with its Annual Report Card for schools in Alberta and an Airdrie elementary school has finished high on the list. 

Airdrie Koinonia Christian is rated 11th of 819 elementary schools in Alberta by Fraser.  The school received a rating of 9.1 out of 10 in the report which rates elementary schools on things such as the average achievement marks in Grade 6 language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

The Ecole Francophonie d'Airdrie came in 225th on the list.  The Footprints for Learning Academy was rated 225th, and Good Shepherd School was 380th.  They were the highest rated elementary schools in Airdrie.   

Among other elementary schools in the area, Hugh Sutherland Elementary in Carstairs was rated 149th, and the RancheView School in Cochrane came in 341st.

Among high schools, the only Airdrie one to crack the top 100 was St. Martin de Porres which was rated 99th out of 262 Alberta high schools.  Airdrie Koinonia Christian High was the next highest rated city high school at 124th.

Among area high schools, Hugh Sutherland High in Carstairs was rated 36th on the list while Didsbury High School was 40th.  Three Cochrane high schools, Cochrane High, St. Timothy's and Bow Valley High School all made the top 100, ranking 56th, 65th, and 92nd respectively. 

High school ratings were based upon things like average diploma examination marks, the difference between the school mark and examination mark in diploma courses, diploma courses taken per student and the diploma completion rate.

Private and charter schools were the top performers in the Fraser Institute's ratings.
