On Friday, November 11, the words 'Lest we forget' carry a great level of meaning for Canadians on Remembrance Day.

As we celebrate veterans who are still able to share their stories of WWII, we also celebrate young veterans who have fought wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Rwanda, Somalia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.

There are many men and woman who have served over the last 100 years that have given their lives for our freedom, and for those we say a prayer.

In Airdrie, you can join the Remembrance Day ceremony at Genesis Place in the field house at 10:00 a.m. The doors open at 8:30.

After the ceremony, the Airdrie Legion will be laying a wreath at the cenotaph by the Town and Country Centre.
