Airdrie RCMP have laid multiple charges against two Calgarians, after the pair was arrested fleeing a stolen vehicle in Rocky View County on Sunday (May 21).

Around 10:30pm that night, a Cochrane RCMP member was leaving the Calgary Remand Centre and noticed a truck leaving with a burnt out tail light. After checking the truck's license plate and determining the vehicle was stolen, the officer followed the truck north out of Calgary.

Once in Rocky View, the truck fled at a high speed. Airdrie RCMP, Rural RCMP and the Police Dog Service were notified, while Calgary Police Service's HAWCS helicopter was also involved.

Another Cochrane RCMP officer tried to stop the truck but was unsuccessful. HAWCS located the stolen truck and tracked it until it eventually went off road into a field near Range Road 22 west of Airdrie.

With the help of the Police Dog Service and HAWCS, Airdrie RCMP tracked down a man and woman hiding in a bush line and arrested the pair without further incident.
