Airdrie Rural RCMP are trying to identify a suspect in a theft that happened in Crossfield on Sunday afternoon (July 9).

At around 1:30pm, a citizen driving by the Rocky View County yard saw a construction truck with a flat deck parked in the yard near a Rocky View truck.

"The activities being performed by the people in this vehicle were somewhat suspicious to this person and they decided to phone police," said Constable Dan Martin. "They also noticed that a fuel pump was being stolen from a slip tank, a fuel tank from one of the Rocky View trucks."

By the time police arrived, the suspect vehicle had left the scene on Highway 2A, but the concerned citizen was approached by one of the suspects and was able to take some pictures of the man.

That suspect is described as Caucasian with a large build, standing about 5'9" tall with short hair and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm. He was wearing a black "Lucky 13" button up shirt, black shorts, grey sneakers, and a navy blue cap. The driver of the suspect vehicle was not photographed.
