According to Alberta Infrastructure, construction of the new Windsong Heights School is progressing right on schedule.

"Right now there's some interior finishing work underway and the furnishings are being delivered," said Tracy Larsen, a spokesperson for Alberta Infrastructure, "Exterior landscaping work will be completed over the next month."

Larsen said that the new Airdrie school should be finished in time to welcome students this September.

Meanwhile, Fireside School is also progressing. Rocky View announced in the spring that delays meant the school wouldn't be ready by September, but Larsen said that construction should be completed by November.

"Right now work inside is underway, which includes painting, flooring, ceilings, millwork, and outside they're working on the cladding. The landscape was expected to be completed later this summer."

According to Larsen, it is up to the school board to determine when Fireside School opens after construction is complete.
