The Government of Alberta wants to make sure they effectively handle the future legalization of marijuana.

Justice Minister Kathleen Ganley announced yesterday (June 2) that the Province is launching an inititative to gather your feedback on the issue.

"We want Albertans input on distribution and sale of cannabis. We want to hear from them about legal age. We want to hear their thoughts on where cannabis consumption can take place an under what conditions. We want to hear about health concerns including exposure to second hand smoke."

Minister Ganely said the federal timeline for the legislation is quite ambitious, but they're still going to work with it to make sure Albertan's voices are heard.

"At the end of the day, it's the health and saftey of Albertans that are at stake so I think we have to work to meet those timelines even if we do find them a little ambitious."

The government survey is available online until July 31st.  You can find a link here.
