Airdrie police are investigating after a pair made off with an ATM during the early morning hours of Thursday (December 7).

Cst. Dan Martin said around 4:55am, police were dispatched to the scene of the theft.

"Two suspects who are believed to be male broke in through the main doors of Sobeys, smashing the glass. They backed up a white Ford F-350 to the doors and using a tow strap, wrapped it around the ATM and pulled the ATM out of the store."

Once the pair had loaded the ATM into the back of the truck, they fled.

Police are not sure whether or not the truck had been stolen, and were not able to obtain a license plate number. The truck is described as a white Ford F-350 Super Duty four door crew cab with a thin vertical black rack between the cab and bed and black railings along the top of the bed, as well as running boards.

The first suspect was wearing a hockey jersey with the number 97 on the back, believed to be a Connor McDavid Edmonton Oilers Jersey, along with beige pants and what appeared to be a black mask.

The second suspect was wearing black shoes, beige pants and a black sweater, as well as what appeared to be a mask or hoody. He also had a crow bar and a black bag with red straps.
