Airdrie RCMP are asking drivers to steer clear of Highway 567 today (May 1) as they investigate a fatal collision.

At around 11:45am, Police responded to a head-on collision on the highway east of Airdrie near Range Road 283 between a pickup truck and a semi. Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch with extensive damage.

Upon arriving at the scene, police pronounced the driver of the pickup deceased. The driver of the semi is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
