Airdrie RCMP continue to investigate a mail theft from mid-June, and are hoping the public can help identify the man involved.

Around 12:45am on June 16, a lone man entered the apartment complex at 148 Summerfield Close and used a small crowbar to open mail boxes in the foyer. Cst. Dan Martin says the man stole a number of mail items, the contents of which are unknown.

"The male then exited the apartment complex and was observed getting into a white car with a female that we believe were working together".

The man is described as Caucasian and approximately 35-40 years old with an average height, thin build, short brown hair and side burns. He also has half sleeve tattoos on both arms.

"The male was wearing quite a distinctive shirt," said Martin. "It's believed to be the same male that stole an iPad from Tim Hortons near CrossIron Mills Mall back in mid-June as well."

The man was wearing a red "Pringles" t-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, white sunglasses and a silver watch. The t-shirt and tattoos in particular are similar to those of the man that stole the iPad from Tim Hortons on June 14, and Martin said they are quite confident that the same man was involved in both incidents.

The vehicle used in both incidents was different. After stealing the iPad, the man left in a blue and white Car 2 Go Smart car.

"Witnesses on the theft of mail file indicated that it looked like a Hyundai Elantra, which is significantly different from a Smart Car."
