Police continue to deal with an active, unfolding incident north-west of Airdrie.

Earlier this morning, Airdrie RCMP issued a warning about the situation, urging members of the public to stay away from the scene, located at Range Road 12, between Township Roads 275 and 280.

The scene is west of Apple Creek Golf Course, but the incident is not unfolding at the golf course.

At the scene, Cst. Morley Statchuk was not able to give much information. He did say that the presence of anyone other than RCMP would put the investigation in jeopardy, and again asked that everyone avoid the area. Media were then asked to vacate.
