Banff - Airdrie MP Blake Richards was not impressed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's recent cross Canada tour to talk with ordinary Canadians.

Richards says the tour was clearly organized by the Liberal Party to deflect criticism away from the PM over his recent "cash for access" scandal and complaints over his private family holiday to an island owned by the Aga Khan.

Richards believes the tour was put together to "change the channel" from the issues facing Trudeau and forced him to cancel his plans to attend the World Economic Forum.

During the tour, Canadians grilled Trudeau over his government's plans to phase out the oilsands and other concerns.  Now Richards says it's up to the Prime Minister to decide if he's going to listen or not.

According to Richards, Trudeau "can't return to Ottawa with much confidence because he knows Canadians are concerned over the actions his government has been taking and the things they've been doing."
