After a first glance at the Provincial Education Budget, Rocky View Schools say they're pleased.

Associate Superintendent of Operations Darrell Couture says they're happy with the decision to fund enrolment growth.

"As one of the fastest growing school jurisdictions in Alberta , we will welcome over 1000 additional students in the fall...we'll be able to hire the teachers needed to serve those students."

RVS is also expected to receive $3.5 Million to offset costs coming with reduced or eliminated school fees.

However, Couture mentions that due to growing enrolment the last couple years, RVS will need to find an additional $254,000, along with even more money to cover the carbon levy.

Possible transportation fees to help cover these costs will be discussed at a future board meeting.
