The Rocky View School Division has released their 2018/2019 school year budget.

The budget was unveiled just months after RVS came to a decision on how to counteract the one million dollar transportation shortfall.

The 2018/2019 budget will include close to 280 million dollars in funding. 78% percent of the budget will be going directly towards in-class instruction.

The second biggest chunk of the budget at 13% will be used for plant operations and maintenance.  Those two make up the majority of the budget with transportation using 6% of the budget and 3% percent to the governance and administration section.

90% of the budget will be used directly in the schools themselves.

The Divison also received 2.7 million dollars from the Province of Alberta for a one time grant under the classroom improvement fund. According to Board Chair Todd Brand, the intended use of this money has yet to be determined.
