The Alberta NDP are already busy at work, one day after the Throne Speech.

The Government will be tabling a Bill that could reduce school fees for Alberta families. Under the proposed bill parents won't have to pay for instructional supplies or for eligible students taking the bus to their school.

Minister of Municipal Affairs, Shaye Anderson says he understands the plight that parents have gone through with these fees.

"I have two kids but a lot of people have three or four kids and that starts to add up very quickly. For us we knew that this was something important to try and make life better for Albertans, to try to make it more affordable."

Anderson is also looking forward to the Municipal Government Act (MGA), which also came out from the Throne Speech on March 2nd.

The Minister understands that opposition parties will be quick to counter these proposed initiatives and the looming provincial debt, but says, they need to move forward.

"Yes, we have a deficit but the thing is we're not going to stop investing in infrastructure, schools and hospitals and roads and bridges. We've got a serious social and physical infrastructure deficit that had been handed over to us. It's just a reality."
