On Sunday, March 21st, Didsbury RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence in Didsbury and, following an extensive search of the residence, seized a significant amount of drugs and cash and arrested a man from Calgary.    

23-year-old Omar Ibrahim Sail was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • 2 charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • 1 charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • 6 charges of Failing to Comply with Release Conditions, et al.

The drugs seized by police are suspected to be 725 grams of cocaine, 101 grams of fentanyl, and 9 grams of methamphetamine.  The drugs have an estimated street value of $70, 000.   Police also seized $15, 000 in cash.

"This is another significant drug bust in the area in the last few months," says Didsbury RCMP Staff Sergeant Chad Fournier.  "The disruption in criminal activity has had a profound effect on the community."

Omar Sail has been remanded in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on March 29th.
