In 2011, the City of Calgary decided to stop adding Fluoride to their water. Now, some Councillors say this decision should be reconsidered.

This popular debate has been re-sparked following a study conducted in early 2016. The study found that Calgary kids have a higher rate of tooth decay than children in Edmonton where the water is fluoridated.

This topic will be brought forth at the Calgary City Council meeting on Monday, September 12. Though a decision will not be made at this time, Councillors will discuss whether to further assess the findings.
