Even if not one soul walks through the gates of Stampede Park today (July 16) the numbers are still better than they were last year during the rain soaked, economically depressed Stampede of 2016.

Yesterday's huge crowd of 136,611 brings the cumulative attendance for the first nine days (plus sneak-a-peak) to 1,097,458.

That's a more than 15,000 person improvement over the 1,082,000 who made their way through the rain, mud and mire to the show in all of 2016

The 2017 edition of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth wraps up later today.
