Airdrie RCMP are asking you to stay off the roads if you don't need to drive.

Due to the snow and high winds, driving conditions have become hazardous, especially around the city.

Ice has begun forming on some part of the highways, secondary highways and roads with reduced visibility also making conditions dangerous.

If you do have to be out and about, RCMP are asking drivers to exercise extreme caution by:

  • Reducing your speed and wearing a seat belt;
  • Leaving plenty of distance between your vehicle and others on the road;
  • Watch out for any Emergency and Police personnel;
  • Fill up your vehicle with fuel before heading out.

The weather has produced winter-like driving conditions and RCMP are wanting everyone to get to their destination safely.
