Co-op and The Foodbank held their annual Stuff-a-Bus in Airdrie yesterday, raising funds and supplies for the Airdrie Foodbank.

While support varies year to year, Sue Methuen says the event supports a lot of families.

"It's really important because, yeah, absolutely, we have a lot of families that were feeding. A lot children, a lot of seniors and the more food we can get right now, the more it'll last us for rest the of the year."

The Foodbank works tirelessly around Christmas attending events and markets to help ensure it's full for 2018. While donations increase around Christmas, Methuen says that food needs to last.

"We see pretty much the same amount of usage year round but we see more food coming in at Christmas and that has to do us for a long time. So we encourage it, but we do of course encourage donations year round."

Methuen says that the foodbank strives off the kindness of others, especially around this time of the year. Officially, the foodbank only has two fund raisers annually throughout the year but recieves a geat amount of invitations to be apart of community events. Methuen says that because of events like Stuff-a-Bus, the foodbank can strive year round.
