April is known for many things, the never-ending winter, too much precipitation and the most notorious feature of them all, the tax deadline.

The 2017 tax deadline for employees is April 30th.

If you are self-employed you have until June 15th to file your taxes but the outstanding balance from the previous year must be cleared by the April 30th deadline date.

If you are filing taxes for a deceased individual the due date may be different.

Those that do not meet and file their taxes before the deadline may be subject to delayed GST, Child Tax Benefit and Old Age Security Benefit payments.
