On a day when her NDP Party is falling behind in the polls, Alberta Premier Rachel Notley took the stage in her annual State of The Province Address on October 19th.

As expected, the economy was front and centre with Notley explaining that everyone will need to help in diversifying the economy.

"Every Albertan will have a role to play in building that more diversified and resilient economy. An economy whose benefits should and must be much more widely shared."

Despite the looming fears of deficits and taxes, Notley pinted out that fixing the economy is more than just crunching the numbers.

"Albertans don't just want a return to growth per se. Albertans also want to make sure that the benefits of a return to growth are widely shared"

Most of what was talked about at the address was already unveiled by the NDP Government including the Carbon Tax and Minimum Wage increase.

Notley did take the time to talk about the Government's latest initiative.

"The best education in the world does no good if the people who need it the most can't afford it, so earlier today my Government announced that we are extending the tuition freeze for Alberta students for a third year."

The latest polls from a University of Lethbridge survey show that Albertans are favouring the PC Party with 38% support, followed by the Wildrose and NDP.
