With Christmas once again come and gone, you might be starting to take down your decorations and are looking to get rid of your Christmas tree.

Leanne Moreira, Education Coordinator with Waste & Recycling at the City of Airdrie, said there is once again a place for you to take your trees.

"Real Christmas trees can be dropped off at the Recycle Depot for mulching. We just ask that you remove all tinsel, lights, decorations and tree bags before dropping off your real Christmas trees. If you have any imitation Christmas trees or decor, consider donating or reusing them next year."

Christmas trees will be accepted at the Recycle Depot starting today (December 26) until January 16. The City does not do curbside tree pickups, so they must be taken to the Recycle Depot.

The 1st Airdrie Scouts are also doing their part to help with the Christmas tree recycling by offering curbside pickups. You can sign up at 1stAirdrieScouts.com/trees .
