The U.S. Presidential Election is having an effect on Airdrie gas prices.

On Monday, November 7, gas prices had dropped to 86.4 c/L, which is 18 cents lower than last year's price.

Dan McTeague, Sr. Petroleum Analyst with Gas Buddy, said that any indication of pump prices by week’s end won’t become apparent until at least Wednesday.

"With markets focused on the outcome of the U.S. election and the Colonial Pipeline flowing once again, pump prices may not vary much until the political dust has settled."

McTeague anticipates that once the results are in, we may see an additional decrease of 3-4 c/L at the pump.
