Voting on whether we'll see a United Conservative Party in Alberta is now underway.

Voting by registered PC Party members started this morning (July 20) at 8:00 online and by phone and continues until 6:00pm Saturday.   Locally, in person voting takes place at the Airdrie Legion from noon 'til 6:00 pm Saturday.

Wildrose Party registered members will cast their votes, online and by phone, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday.  In person voting for the Wildrose goes at the Radisson Hotel in Red Deer.

The vote results for both parties are expected to be known shortly after the close of voting this Saturday (July 22nd)

On May 18, the PC's and the Wildrose came to an agreement in principle to unite and form a single conservative party. To ratify that agreement, 50 per cent of PC members and 75 per cent of Wildrose members must vote in favour of unification.

Party memberships surged in advance of the vote for both parties.
