The Airdrie Fire Department was called to a home on Williamstown Blvd. Tuesday morning (November 1) at 11:37 a.m., after one of the townhouses caught fire.

Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the call and were able to quickly evacuate the home and multiple homes surrounding the fire.

Deputy Chief, Garth Rabel was able to confirm that all residents were accounted for.

Rabel was unable to speculate on the cause of the fire but said that the Fire Prevention Bureau would be conducting an investigation.

A neighbour at the scene said that it appeared that the fire started on the front porch and has spread to the eves and the roof.

The Fire Department is still working to put out the fire but has recently evacuated additional homes due to the spread of the fire.

Home owners arrived back at the residence and were thrilled to be reunited with their two dogs who were rescued from the burning building.
