There are a number of vacancies on Airdrie's volunteer boards, and Mayor Peter Brown thinks joining those boards is a great way to get involved in Airdrie's future.

"Everybody talks about making a difference in your community, these are ways you can do it."

One of the boards looking to fill seats is the Environmental Advisory Board.

"You can see what's happening, what's been planned over the last couple of years as it relates to the environment."

The Municipal Planning Commission is also looking to fill some spots.

"There's lots of very interesting stuff and it has to do with the growth and design and the future look of our city. You should really look at that one if you're interested in any sort of development."

The Airdrie Main Street Square Board also has some openings.

Adult citizens, as well as students in grades 11 and 12 are allowed to submit applications for board positions.
