It's almost time for you to go out on the natural ice in Airdrie.

According to the City of Airdrie's Outdoor Rinks page, natural surfaces including Nose Creek, Waterstone and Summerhill still aren't thick enough to safely skate on.

As of December 13th, Nose Creek's thickness sits at 6.5", Summerhill is at 7" and Waterstone is at 7.5" thick.

The City says these surfaces need to be between 10-12" thick to be deemed safe enough to skate on.

Several of Airdrie's boarded and sno bank rinks are already up and running.
