A break from the cold weather is right around the corner.

Dan Kulak, Meteorologist with Environment Canada, says weather systems moving east will mean high temperatures in the next few days.

"What's happening this week is this one system moving through today is going to move off into Saskatchewan. As it does, the warm air then comes back in behind ahead of the very next weather system, which looks like it'll move through later on in the week, so we get the plus elevens mid-week and then down to four and two degrees for the latter part of the week and into the weekend."

While we will see warmer weather, Kulak says calling it a Chinook would be inaccurate.

"This is more warm weather than Chinook. The true Chinook is something that is really confined to the foothills where you get the really strong, strong winds that can come across the mountains. Calgary and Airdrie can get Chinook type weather, but the really strong winds are usually a little further south towards Lethbridge and Pincher Creek."

Double digit highs are not the norm at this time of year, but Kulak said it's common to see fluctuations in temperature through the fall.

"Normal for this time of year is a high of about -1, so it's kind of a typical fall season where it goes from warm to cold to warm to cold except this year we've had mostly cold in the month of November but lately we've had some warm weather and warm weather looks like it's gonna return for the middle part of this week."
