The Airdrie Health Foundation has held their "Light Up The Night Gala" for the last three years, which each one succeeding the other in fundraising goals.

This year  however, brought more excitement to the Foundation and it's supporters.

"We lit up the night," says Chair of the Health Foundation Michelle Bates, "We'll keep with that theme of Light Up The Night but it will just be in different ways now."

Bates refers to the recent announcement that Airdrie's Urgent Care centre will soon be open 24/7.

Though there's still plenty of work left to do for the Health Foundation, Bates says there's more optimism now for what the future can hold.

"We talked more about moving forward that this is a first step that we have somewhere here local in the middle of the night."

Bates goes on to say that one of the next goals is making sure Airdrie has the facilities to handle more critical cases.

This year's "Light Up The Night Gala" raised about $125,000, most of which in the form of equipment purchases which will soon be delivered to The Urgent Care Centre and the Highland Primary Care Network.
