McDuffe says she was quite happy when she got the news.

“I was very pleased, happy and honoured to be selected to lead Croxford School. I’m anxious to move forward, at the same time I connected closely with the student, staff and parent community here at Meadowbrook School. It’ll be hard to say goodbye but I am looking forward to the new school and moving on with that.”

Meadowbrook School is the first Middle School that McDuffe has been a part of as the majority of her career as an educator was spent at the High School level. She originally started in B.C. in the 90’s.

“I was there for about 20 years, mainly teaching science and biology. After about 14 years there I stepped into an Associate Principal role, the year after became Principal of the same school in Tumbler Ridge. I did that for five years there and then I moved to Southern Alberta in Pincher Creek and I was Principal of Matthew Halton High School for nearly six years.”

McDuffe eventually moved to become Principal of Meadowbrook School in the Spring of 2016.

When talking about the vision for W.H. Croxford moving forward, McDuffe says she wants to build on what’s already worked there so far.

“I’d like to build upon Croxford’s response to intervention model in support students in literacy and numeracy. Continuing on the same path of innovation and supporting students towards their career paths. That’s a real passionate area of mine in preparing students in steps beyond High School.”

RVS also named three other principal appointments recently with Jordan Fenton at East Lake School, Ryan Siemens at Sarah Thompson School and Michelle Doz at Prairie Waters.
