The sudden wind and rain definitely put a damper on your Wednesday plans.

Thankfully, Kirk Torneby with Environment Canada says the winds and rain should taper off.

"It looks like the bulk of the precipitation should be out of the province by morning, so it;s really a one day phenomenon."

With Southern Alberta prone to sudden changes in weather like this, Torneby says it's a big reminder to always be prepared.

"Flooding can be a concern at this time of year with intense rain fall...if the rain comes down heavy, you want always to have somewhere to go that's higher terrain or indoors."

Rocky View and Mountain View Counties were placed under a wind warning as gusts were reaching 90 km/h.

The crazy weather also made driving tough on the highways, with a crash taking place on the Southbound QE II near Yankee Valley Blvd.
