Nearly 1,000 additional students are enrolled in Rocky View Schools (RVS) as a result of significant enrollment growth in Airdrie, Cochrane, and Chestermere.

At the latest RVS Board Meeting (October 5), student enrollment was discussed once again, now official. Total enrolment across the division as of September 30 is 28,602, up 990 or 3.6 per cent from the 2022/23 school year.

In comparison to 2022–2023, the overall usage rate for all RVS schools is 93 per cent this year, an increase from the previous 87 per cent.

499, or 50.4 per cent, of the 990 new RVS students are in Airdrie. This represents a rise of 158 per cent from 2003 to 2023.

With no new schools approved or opening in Airdrie for a few years, the three high schools' average enrollment currently stands at 110 per cent; by 2027, it will be 130 per cent.
