After donating $1,935 just last week to Community Links to help them with programs and services, the Airdrie Lions Club has made another generous donation to a group doing great work in the city.

Airdrie Meals on Wheels received a cheque for $1,500 from the group to help them continue to feed seniors, the disabled, people with special needs and those getting over illness or injury.

A media release sent to Discover Airdrie by Meals on Wheel Media and Public Relations person Lois Jones said the club wants to thank the Lions for their generosity.  The dedicated group volunteers and can be seen hosting fundraising events throughout Airdrie during the year.  It's through that community committment that they're able to give back to groups and organizations like Meals on Wheels.

In 2018, Meals on Wheels volunteers delivered 1,316 meals to people needing them.  They drove 16,259 km while delivering those meals and spent a total of 1,397 hours doing so.

Airdrie Meals on Wheels believes everyone deserves a good meal regardless of their circumstances.  With the support of groups like the Airdrie Lions Club, they're able to keep that belief alive.
