After winning Provincial Championships with Okotoks earlier this month, three Airdrie players took part in the National Tournaments last weekend (August 24-27).

Connor Makarus and Dawson Pound represented Team Alberta in the U13 event in Repentigny, Quebec while Matthew Neufeld suited up in the Ray Carter Cup U15 tournament in Summerside, Prrince Edward Island.

Both teams played an impressive round robin but couldn't clinch a spot in the semi finals putting both of them in the 7/8 game against Prince Edward Island last Sunday (August 27th)

Makarus was impressive for Alberta with 3 hits as his team won 11-7 over PEI to secure 7th overall.

Unfortunately the U15 boys didn't have the same success, narrowly falling to PEI 8-7. Neufeld was at bat 3 times and batted in two runs.

North York, Ontario took gold in the U13 Championship while Quebec took the Ray Carter Cup with a 2-1 win over New Brunswick.
